* I had to resign these offices due to Indiana Judicial Codes of Conduct
Some people have asked me why I have decided to run for the office of Perry Circuit Court Judge. In my opinion, goals should be sought after no matter what the age, and it has always been my goal to work in the Perry County Prosecutor’s Office, and eventually become the Perry Circuit Court Judge.
I believe that the Perry Circuit Court Judge can make a difference in social issues such as non-support, neglect and abuse of children, and the growing substance abuse problems that currently plague our county. I believe a judge should be fair to all, respectful to law enforcement, and responsible for the safety and security over the county in which they preside. It is critical in county government that the court system be open and welcoming to its citizens. Cooperation and communication between the Circuit Court Office and other county offices ensure that the Citizens of Perry County have a court system that is efficient and respectful.
I believe that the Indiana Constitution, and the Constitution of the United States, guarantee each individual liberties and rights that must be protected by judges and the legal system. Most importantly, I believe that words like fairness, respect, and integrity, are not just words to use during election time, but are words that should be inherent in all court proceedings.
Should the Citizens of Perry County see fit to place me in the office of the Perry Circuit Court Judge, then I will make it my goal to fulfill the duties of that office to the best of my abilities while always keeping in mind those three words…fairness, respect, and integrity.
